Airport meeting instructions →Caracol is north of Playa del Carmen in the Xcalacoco area. Sandos Playacar is another resort south of downtown. The names are easy to confuse when booking a transfer, so use Caracol for both arrival and return if that is your accommodation.
The current hotel website uses Sandos Caracol Nature Resort & Water Park. Older confirmations may say Sandos Caracol Eco Resort. Both names identify this property; they do not mean you should switch the destination to Playacar.
Sandos has cenotes and nature activities on the property. They are different from a visit to a cenote outside the hotel. Check the daily hotel program before planning an outing, and arrange separate transport only for the places you actually want to visit.
The hotel states that slide access depends on height. Its larger slides require 1.30 m and medium slides 1.10 m. Check the current rules and opening schedule with the hotel before promising a particular activity to children.
Include all children in the passenger count, even if the hotel charges a different age category for their stay. Check stroller and suitcase space when comparing vehicles. Child-seat requests should be discussed before booking and need confirmation.
Ask reception how long you need to reach the confirmed airport meeting point from your room. Leave time for check-out and luggage collection. The return is from the agreed pickup point, not automatically from the water park, a cenote or a room block.

Once you have checked in, keep the first outing simple. Downtown Playa is a different experience from the coastal resorts: where you stay determines whether an evening stroll starts at your door or after a drive.
Arrange your airport arrival →If you are already on central Quinta Avenida, you can walk toward Parque Fundadores, browse the shops and stop for dinner along the way. You do not need a taxi for every few blocks. Choose a manageable stretch for your group, wear comfortable shoes and take water; the heat can make a short walk feel longer.
Playacar, Mayakoba and resorts north of town do not all sit beside the pedestrian avenue. Check your hotel's actual entrance before deciding to walk into town. For an evening out, agree on a pickup point on a vehicle-accessible street and save its location before you leave.
The beach and the passenger ferry are different plans. A Cozumel crossing needs its own ticket and a return plan; an airport transfer is not a ferry ticket. For local questions, the municipality lists a tourist-information point at Parque Fundadores. Keep your belongings close in busy areas and check the beach flags before swimming.
