Yes, Uber is an option for trips within Cancun city. Its availability in the city does not give it permission to pick up passengers at the airport.

Is Uber authorized to pick up at Cancun Airport?

In its March 11, 2026 statement, SICT states that Uber lacks authorization to provide services within Mexican airport boundaries. That includes Cancun Airport.

SICT also explained that the injunction concerning National Guard enforcement does not constitute an airport permit. Book your arrival transfer ahead of time and keep your meeting instructions handy.
