Tulum: plan for the town, beach and archaeological site

Town and beach hotels need different travel plans

Do not assume a restaurant in town is a short walk from your beach hotel. Check the route from the hotel entrance and plan your return before going out. Keeping an afternoon in one area leaves more time for the places you want to visit.

Visit the archaeological site on its own schedule

Tulum’s archaeological site is on the coast. Check INAH’s current access information before your visit, including admission and any access restrictions. Bring water and comfortable shoes. Admission is not included in an airport transfer.

Make time for a cenote

Ask the site or activity operator about swimming rules, equipment and what the ticket includes. Leave time to change clothes afterward. A timed activity just before your airport pickup can make the last day unnecessarily rushed.

Check whether your flight arrives at CUN or TQO

Tulum has its own international airport. Our Cancun Airport search starts from CUN; do not use that pickup for a flight arriving at TQO. Contact our team if you need help identifying the right service.

Arrange the ride to your actual hotel

Choose the exact hotel name and review both travel dates for a round trip. Keep the hotel’s contact details handy if it has multiple entrances. Any change of hotel should be reviewed with our reservations team before pickup.
